In 2010 we focused on the emerging African market. We collaborated with a Jupiter Drawing Room break away in Cape Town and helped them to set up an advertising agency for “the new era” in South Africa. Bringing our collaborative communication model   to the African market. To show we really believe in emerging markets we became partners in the new agency: 60 layers of cake Cape Town was born. We started with small projects for Glamour and the Body Shop. Thanks to the great work and reputation of the local owners Ben and Michael we were able to join some large pitches. After winning a pitch for one of the world’s biggest soft drinks companies the sky was the limit. 60 layers of cake Cape Town started with 4 people in 2010 and grew to 20 people in no time. A 2nd office in Johannesburg is about to be opened. In Q1 of 2012 the 60 layers of cake South Africa dpt. was solid enough to become a stand-alone agency, facing the African market with full confidence.
